Booking & Service Terms
Last updated: October 2026
Thank you for choosing Sort and Order. These terms explain how bookings work, so we both know what to expect. When you confirm a booking, you agree to these terms. Moving-house services are booked through Your Moving Day and follow their own terms.
1. Services
I offer:
- In-person home organising and decluttering sessions — usually a 7-hour day starting at 9:30am
- Virtual Power Hours — online sessions by video call
- Space planning — ideas and layouts to help a room or home work better
Every project starts with a free 15–30 minute call, so we can agree what you'd like to achieve before anything is booked.
2. Prices
In-person sessions are from £350 per day plus travel. Prices for Power Hours and space planning are confirmed when you book. Any quote I give you is valid for 30 days.
Storage products, containers, labels or other items are not included unless agreed. If I buy items for you, you'll pay their cost, which I'll agree with you first.
3. Deposits and payment
- A deposit of 50% of the first session fee is needed to secure your date. Your booking is confirmed once it is received.
- The remaining balance is due on the day of the session or within 7 days of receiving my invoice.
- Virtual Power Hours and space planning are paid in full in advance.
- Payment is by bank transfer unless we agree otherwise.
4. Cancelling or changing a booking
Life happens, and I'll always try to be flexible. To be fair to other clients who could have used the date:
- More than 7 days' notice: you can move your date for free, or cancel and have your deposit refunded.
- 48 hours to 7 days' notice: you can move your date once at no charge. If you cancel, the deposit is kept.
- Less than 48 hours' notice: the full session fee is payable, unless I can fill the date.
Virtual Power Hours can be rescheduled free with at least 24 hours' notice.
If I have to cancel because of illness or an emergency, I'll let you know as soon as I can and offer a new date or a full refund of anything you've paid for that session.
5. Your responsibilities
To help our time together go smoothly, please:
- make sure I can safely access the areas we're working on, and tell me about any hazards (such as pets, damp, mould, loose flooring or unsafe lofts)
- let me know about anything valuable, fragile, sentimental or important that needs special care
- be available to make decisions about your belongings — nothing is thrown away, donated or sold without your agreement
- arrange parking or let me know about any parking charges, which will be added to your invoice
- keep valuables such as cash, jewellery and important documents safe or tell me where they are
6. What I'm responsible for
I'll work with care, respect and complete discretion, and I hold public liability insurance. I'm not responsible for:
- wear, damage or faults that already existed
- items you chose to discard, donate or recycle
- the condition of products bought from third parties
Space planning ideas are suggestions only and are not architectural, structural, electrical or building advice. Please check with a qualified professional before any building work.
7. Donations and disposal
I can help take donations to local charities or recycling as agreed. Some items, like large furniture, hazardous waste or electricals, may need a specialist service, which you'll arrange and pay for directly.
8. Confidentiality and photos
What happens in your home stays private. I'll only take before-and-after photos with your permission, and will never share anything that identifies you or your home without your agreement.
9. Complaints
If anything isn't right, please tell me straight away so I can put it right. You can reach me on 07488 600127 or at helen@sortandorder.co.uk.
10. Law
These terms sit alongside my Website Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. They don't affect your legal rights as a consumer, and are governed by the law of England and Wales.
